Georgie Bateman, Emily Rittner-McKinley and Mike Aubrey met through their shared passion for teaching. They have developed the courses on this website in response to parents' requests for more information in specific areas and at specific times of their children's lives, using their broad range of skills as a basis and bringing in additional trainers where appropriate.
The Born To Parent ante-natal and post-natal courses offer the most up-to-date knowledge, delivered without agenda or bias so that you can make informed choices with a complete understanding of the options and the outcomes.
Other childcare courses are based on years of experience helping parents negotiate the sometimes tricky path of childhood, using techniques that work with your child so that you are not permanently in a battlefield!
All of us are parents wanting the very best for our children and through consultation with students and other parents we have created the courses delivered under the Grey Rabbit Training banner. We want to bridge the gap between adolescence and adulthood, developing the soft skills so desired by universities and employers, which will smooth our children's paths not only at this crucial stage of their lives, but throughout their adulthood.
All trainers working for Born To Parent or Grey Rabbit Training have current DBS clearance enabling them to work with children as well as up-to-date First Aid certificates.
Emily trained as a midwife, antenatal teacher and Montessori teacher. She then worked as a nanny, maternity nurse, doula and sleep consultant. She has frequently been employed by high profile families to find the perfect staff for them and her understanding of this unique area contributes enormously to the CV writing, interview and personal presentation elements of our courses. Emily completed no fewer than seven seasons working with children (and Mike!) at Powder Byrne. She has a passion for learning and teaching, and worked as the main trainer for MNT for over a decade. Emily and Georgie met while developing and delivering sleep training courses to childcare professionals, and Emily is the main teacher on most of our ante-natal and childcare courses.
Georgie grew up in Dorset , the eldest of three sisters. After working in London for Morgan Stanley, Credit Agricole and UBS she and her husband moved to Hampshire in 1997 to bring up their young family. In 1999 she opened Night Nannies Hampshire, Wiltshire and Berkshire, a specialist nanny agency business focused on providing overnight childcare and sleep solutions by suitably qualified and experienced nannies. One of the key features of the service is the ability to encourage babies into good sleep habits. Since 2003 Georgie has taught the Sleep Training course for MNT at Reading University. In 2014 she set up a new business, Born to Parent, building on the 15 years' experience with Night Nannies, offering a more refined range of services focused on providing education and consultancy support to parents.
