Many of these elements are touched upon in ante-natal courses; but it makes more sense once you have a real live baby in your arms.
There then seem to be another million and one things you want to know which will help you feel secure in your parenting.
We have created a number of courses to give you the flexibility to meet your family's needs, delivered in your own home.
This course is designed for mothers and fathers who want more information and practical guidance to help them breastfeed successfully. There is also the opportunity to discuss when and how bottle-feeding can be introduced if you chose.
Any parent who wants to know more about breastfeeding.
This course can be delivered before the birth of your baby but ideally will happen just after you come home from hospital. A specialist in newborns will come to your home to show you how to manage the practicalities and care for yourself as well as your new baby, focussing on all aspects of the first few weeks at home.
This course is particularly helpful for extended family, enabling them to explore the meaning and impact of PND. With greater knowledge and understanding, it is easier to deal with its consequences and to offer support appropriate to the medical care being received.
All parents and their support network.
Weaning can be a daunting prospect so we have designed a course that covers both traditional and baby-led weaning to allow you to understand and feel confident in each method.
Any parent who is about to wean their baby on to solids.
This course is perfect for mothers who already have one or more children, or for blended families where each person’s relationship and expectations of the new baby need to be considered and addressed.
Mothers who have already had one baby.
Most mothers will need to address this issue at some stage and with some planning and forethought it can be easily managed.
